What you’ll learn
This session focuses on understanding and managing panicky feelings, including panic attacks.
You’ll learn what panic is, why it happens, and that although panic attacks can feel incredibly frightening, they are not dangerous. We also explore why they feel so intense in the body.
Different types of panic are covered, including panic linked to specific situations, panic that feels sudden or unexpected, and night-time panic.
A key focus is breathing and interpretation, including how fast or shallow breathing can make panic symptoms worse, and how the way we interpret physical sensations can affect how frightening they feel.
Why this session is important
Panicky feelings can feel overwhelming and often lead to fear and avoidance.
This session shows you how to use breathing, thought, and action-based skills together to regain control and reduce panic over time.
