What happens when you buy Stress Control at Home?
There are two ways to buy Stress Control at Home: for yourself or as a gift. This guide explains how each option works, what happens after payment and how access is set up.

At a glance
Buying for yourself: create your login details at checkout, pay, then log in and start using Stress Control at Home straight away.
Buying as a gift: enter the recipient’s details, then choose whether their gift email is sent directly to them or sent to you to pass on later. Their 12-month membership begins when they first log in.
Buying a membership for yourself
How to buy
- Go to Get Started.
- Choose “I am an individual buying Stress Control for myself.”
- Enter your name and email address and create your password.
- Continue to payment and complete your purchase.
- Once payment is complete, log in using the email address and password you chose.
Your account is ready to use straight away.
You’ll also receive welcome emails confirming your membership and giving you useful information about Stress Control. If you don’t see them, it’s worth checking your junk or spam folder.
Your 12-month membership
Your 12-month membership starts on the day you buy it.
During that time, you can work through the programme at your own pace and return to the videos and supporting resources whenever you want.
Pausing or extending
You can pause your membership once for up to 30 days. It will restart automatically after 30 days, or you can restart it sooner from My Account Settings.
If you would like more time, you can also purchase an additional 90 days for £50 from My Account Settings.
Buying a membership as a gift
You don’t need to have a Stress Control account yourself to buy a gift.
What you’ll need
When you buy, you’ll be asked for:
- your own name and email address;
- the recipient’s name;
- the recipient’s email address;
- an optional personal message of up to 50 words.
Make sure you use an email address the recipient can access, as they’ll use this to log in to Stress Control at Home.
How to buy
- Go to Get Started.
- Choose “I am buying Stress Control as a gift.”
- Enter your details and the recipient’s details.
- Add a personal message if you would like to.
- Choose whether to send the gift to the recipient now or send it to yourself.
- Continue to payment and complete your purchase.
You’ll receive confirmation of your purchase by email.
Sending the gift directly
If you choose “Send to recipient now”, the gift email is sent directly to the recipient.
It includes your name and, if you added one, your personal message, along with the details they need to access Stress Control at Home.
They log in with the email address you entered for them and the temporary password in the email, then choose their own password.
Their 12-month membership begins when they first log in, so they get the full 12 months from that point.
Sending the gift to yourself
If you would rather give the gift personally — for example, for a birthday or another special occasion — choose “Send to myself.”
The gift email is sent to you, rather than to the recipient. Nothing is emailed to them at this stage.
You can then forward the gift email to them when you are ready.
Their account is set up using the email address you entered for them, so when you give them the gift, let them know which address you used. They’ll need it to log in. They use that email address and the temporary password in the gift email, and are then asked to choose their own password.
Their 12-month membership begins when they first log in, so buying the gift in advance doesn’t use up any of their membership.
Their account is private
A gift membership belongs to the recipient.
Their Stress Control at Home account and use of the programme are private.
The person who bought the gift cannot access the recipient’s account or see their progress.
